Franchising Requirements
BUSINESS OWNERSHIP ELIGIBILITY
You must meet the citizenship or residency requirements that allow you to own a business in the US.
BACKGROUND CHECK AND SCREENING
All applicants must complete and pass a drug test, criminal background check and credit check.
FRANCHISE FEE
The franchise fee is a flat $4,500.

FAQs
What kind of training must I undergo before opening a store?
If awarded a Mai or Genji Franchise, we provide 5 days of in-person training in our Training Center and on-site pre-opening training and support, including ordering guidance and establishing a mix of sushi offerings.
How long is the application process to become a Franchisee?
To be approved as a Franchisee, it can take from 30-90 days. To open the store, it depends on location.
Is there ongoing support provided?
Yes, we have a highly trained field team to support you running your sushi business. Many members of our team were sushi chefs themselves. We are happy to talk about specific support. You can contact us for more information.
Does Genji/Mai Franchising award territories or regions?
Franchisees will be awarded specific locations in most instances. There may be multi-unit opportunities within the same geographic area or opportunities to operate satellite locations in close proximity to the primary location.
